Election Day

I am spending my day watching Hamilton to remind myself of what this country is all about. Granted, it was not built with me in mind, but I’ll take it. Our idea of government was designed for white male landowners. It had to ensure that the people of Rhode Island had the same power as the people of Pennsylvania. But from this people came ideas like the story of Alexander Hamilton.

I early voted so I am sitting back and waiting on the results like everyone else. What I love about it is we are seizing the opportunity to make the system work for us, even though it is not easy. People have ideas of what the United States is all about, but we are all beginning to see that it is not what we thought. It is even better. We gotta werk!

I have participated in the voting process since I was 18. I love it. I believe in it. I have seen it work, but you have to commit to it. I am excited that so many people have registered and voted. It is going to make the jury pool look amazing.

This country is designed to work with citizens participating in the process. We have gotten lazy and wanted someone else to do it for us. We have settled for the lazy, criminal element and have lived with the consequences of it. 2020 is the year we hold people accountable. It is the year we take back our process.

Remember ya’ll we are still a relatively a young country. Lets not throw away our shot.

I Am Grateful

In the month of November, I will examine the things that I am grateful that I have access to through images. The things or individuals I am most grateful for is family. This is how we live our life because God has been good to us. This image was taken when we had littles. They would love an afternoon at the park.

This month examine how God has been good to you. Write down those things you are grateful for.

How To Raise God Wise Kids In A Satan Rich World

In a world that can seem hopeless, kids need a reason to hope. In addition to teaching our children how to get into college, play sports and chase the American Dream, there is something greater to be learned. He created the universe with stars and planets, yet the desire of His heart was to reconcile with people whom He loved. In this devotional, the author shares ideas of how to help your children have a personal relationship with God. Through scripture, art and stories, she shared the opportunities she had to teach her own child to get to know God.
