What are two of the most popular songs to listen to when you hit the road?
Prince’s 1999 and Springsteen’s Born to Run were at the top of many lists of recommended songs to listen to while on a road trip. I remember when music came out on 8 Track Tapes. People had them in their cars and home. They had stacks of tapes. It was another way to listen to music.
Born to Run was released by Bruce Springsteeen in 1975 on Columbia Records. It sold more than six million copies.
1999 was released by Prince in 1982 on Warner Bros. It has sold over 4 million copies.
Last week I noticed the patterns in the world around me.There were lines and circles. Spots and specks. Everything is made up of something. It tells its own story.
My favorite part of going to a Texas Rangers baseball game was the walk up music. Each player had a song that they chose to have playing when they walked up to bat. The right song could get the crowd going. It was fun.
After that experience I decided I needed a walk up song. But there are so many to choose from it is hard to pick.
But when I am on the road, I have many songs that I listen to. Music will make or break your mood. Choose very carefully the things you listen to when you are on the way to somewhere, especially if that somewhere is important.
This month is gonna be about the road music. I have looked through several list of what are the songs most people listen to on a roadtrip. Where the Streets Have No Name by U2 is at the top of the list. Joshua Tree is a good album, but Rattle and Hum is my favorite U2.
I drew a CD because that is a form music came in. We will look at different forms music came in, and this is the first one I will mention. I still have CDs and a CD player.
Make sure you watch the official video on YouTube. It captured a moment. And that is what music does. It captures a moment. Make good moments this month.
This month is abstract art because life isn’t always what you see. Sometimes it is all in the angles. There are always points to life. Sometimes you get it. Sometimes you don’t. What do you get?
Girls are powerful, no matter their shape or form. Girls are intelligent, using what they have to do what they need. Girls are compassionate, because life is not about them.
One of my favorites is No 1 Ladies Detective Agency where she was Precious Ramotswe. She was a woman trying to make it in a man’s world. She was smooth as silk and inspired others.
But she is more than the characters she plays. She is strength, passion and humor.
God is always on time. You have to trust the process that is meant to teach you something. I have always said, God doesn’t give Fs. He gives do overs. So push through. You will be better for it.
Paul thought he knew all there was to know about God, but on the road to Damascus what he learned changed his life. Paul was a very intelligent Jew who traveled in prestigious religious circles. He had permission to persecute people from this new religious sect, Christians.
While travelling on the road, a great light struck him blind and he heard the words of God speaking to him. I am sure it is terrifying coming close to something you know only to find out, you don’t know it at all.
He learned that God on the inside of your heart is better than head knowledge. He knew the more of himself that decreased, allowed God to increase and change the world.
Ever thought you were going somewhere, but it turned out that wasn’t it at all? Trust the process.
