What twelve years of education and mandatory classes failed to do, can be done in a matter of moments with the right singers and directors.
And the answer to the unasked question is teach American citizens how government works.
In the new offering titled We The People executive producers President Barack and Michelle Obama, Kenya Barris and Chris Nee tell strong stories that explain the Bill of Rights, Immigration, Taxes and so much more. It reminds me of that Saturday morning cartoon School House Rock but gives me so much more.
The wide range of directors telling the stories made it interesting and made me want to see what each brought to the table. It was nice to see some of the characters in non traditional roles. It was good to see all types of people represented.
One of my favorite episodes was about taxes. Everyone hates to pay them, but love the benefits of them. We spend everything we got hitting those well paved roads across America. We love the library system, couldn’t live without some of the regulations. It is great that there is something that puts everything in perspective at a level that even a child can understand it.
I thought the art was beautiful. The music made me dance. It also reminds me to be an active citizen. As everyone should be. But also remember you need to be an informed active citizen.

When I think of all He has done for me, I get excited. My joy is upside down and over the top.

Some days you have to wring it like an old dish rag to get any joy out of life. Squeeze on!

Probably the single hardest thing to do is to own our own joy. So many times we give into mood-of-the-day. If everyone around me is happy, I am happy. If everyone around me is sad, I am sad.
If no one in your circle of influence has joy, does that mean you don’t have joy?
God gives us a Joy that is built on Hope and Love. Own it. Write it in your own handwriting

Sometimes my joy is down low. I am so consumes with all of the other things happening in my life, I forget about it. I don’t dwell on it when I should. Those are times when I think about the things I can’t control.
But I serve an awesome God. He usually sends me something to remind me of what I believe.

It is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. True joy comes from God. Sometimes mine is low key because there are so many things in the world that could steal it. It blends in, but it is one of the big things in my life.

My worship moves from the inside out. It has all of my flourish because it is personal. It reflects who I am. I sing loud and wave my hands. I praise. I enjoy the presence of the Lord. Because when He shows up, nothing else matters.

Mine rises and falls according to what I put into it. I love to lift my hands because it feels as though I am reaching for my God, the subject of it. I love it when I can throw off what ever is on me and go before my God. I love to worship.
