Is fun, versatile and the envy of many.

Is fun, versatile and the envy of many.

The road is stretched out before you for a reason. Go.

You never know what is on the other side. Different is good.

Last week I noticed the patterns in the world around me.There were lines and circles. Spots and specks. Everything is made up of something. It tells its own story.

As we sang this song yesterday during worship it was actually happening. Heaven was touching earth. It is a regular thing that we take for granted, but I was reminded during the song that amazing things happen when Heaven touches earth.
For instance in Texas during a hot dry summer when the grass is brown and dead looking, a good rain will make your lawn look like the weeks of heat killing never happened.
Yesterday Heaven squelched heatwaves across the country. But is also brought some destruction. We try to think of Heaven as this gentle peaceful place instead of powerful and mighty.
I mean what happens when powerful and mighty meets weak and unworthy? When permanent meets not permanent? When holy meets unholy?
But think about this: if Heaven contains a mighty and powerful God, why wouldn’t what comes out of it also be mighty and powerful? Why wouldn’t whatever comes from Heaven have transforming power?
Perhaps this week we should examine what happens when Heaven touches the earth. It changes what it touches.

What do you see? Humanity has not reached a point where it can hold creation back. We cant control the temperature, what falls from the sky and when it does. Stop worrying about the wrong things
His shoes were shined. His pants were pressed, and he had a Kangol on. He was an instigator. The older African American man who sat next to me on the bus enjoyed the journey as much as I did. He would say whatever I thought, and we would laugh. Like those young girls need to get up and let the older women with canes and heavy bags sit down. Most did not.

At one point an old drunk man decided he was going to squeeze in between two younger women in the front seats. He asked her to move over. She didn’t. He turned his butt towards her and squeezed in the seat next to her.
The old man next to me laughed out loud. I admit I giggled too.
It was a busy afternoon. There was lots of getting on and off. Lots of opinions to be made about each. It was fun. This city is full of character, in the people and the places.

The beauty all around us. Simple things like a blue sky. Tall Bulding. Fun colors. I love the architecture of this city. Today, sit back and admire the beauty.
Go be great.
