113th and Cottage Grove

113th and Cottage Grove

In September we will celebrate Street Art. Chicago is loaded with amazing work around the city. This work is on a building at the corner of 63rd and Cottage Grove.

But you control your reaction to it. Dance. Ending this month’s videos with movement.
Is it peace? If so what does it look like? What does it sound like? We all have to find our own rhythm. What does your peace look like? Is it slow and smooth?
In place of still photography, I will replace it with video and sound to create thought provoking art for the month of August. I did the video work, but the music is by William Rosati, titled Sulking.
As these leave were floating in the water, it made me think of how this year is passing for some. We are the leaves just floating at whatever pace the water sets for us.
Where are you going?
It has been hot and beautiful.

I love the rich colors of these plants.

This July my photography will focus on some of my favorite roses. These are from my mom’s home. But these flowers remind me of summer. Big. Bright. Beautiful.

You better be in for the long haul. This is a new series I am starting on called Portrait of Evangelical Racists.
I am working with new stuff, but it is proving to be worth it. For some reason strangers think they can come at you on social media, and it started me to thinking. How dare you freely give away your racism like you preaching God’s word. I didn’t ask for that. But I see it for what it is. People always trying to put their hate behind the bible.
I expect this series to grow.

In June we will do things that make us better. This month pray for the Supreme Court of the United States. Pray that they will do what is right and just and fair. Pray that everyone in the United States will also do the same.
