How to Raise God Wise Kids in a Satan rich World

I am writing the best book I have ever written

I can tell because everything wants to distract me. You know what I mean, you stop to do something that should take five seconds and it takes five hours. You have a section that is not working, so instead of going to another section, you watch TV.

God is not playing with me on this one. He said focus. I am trying.

With each lead female character  write about there is something, a scene, a task, that stays with me.

Whenever I am frying anything in a pan, I think of Zoraida.

Whenever I am driving down the street and my arm is hanging out the window, I think of Sandy.

This new character has me all messed up because she is always with me.  This could be part of the writing process, but her love story has me.  It haunts me, It speaks to me. I think it will knock you out too.

I tell stories because it is what I do, It is what I was created to do.  I still write by hand some things. (I know I am old) But I love how God uses me to tell these.

Well, I have to get back to work. I have procrastinated long enough.  I don’t know how this story is going to change the world, but it is certainly working its way through me. I can’t wait to share it with you.

You Gonna Learn Today

Or maybe you will learn tomorrow the hard way. There are two kinds of people in this world. One who learns by other people’s experience and one who learns by their own experience.
Example: Your brother tells you not to mess with something because Dad will give you a whipping when he catches you. He knows. He has been whipped for it.
The first person will heed the brother’s warning and stop doing it. The second person will keep on doing it to see if Dad will really whip them.
The Bible is full of characters who would not listen to God and had to do things their own way.  Saul wanted to be king the way he wanted to be king. He stopped listening to God and as a result, God picked a new king.
I am not a goody two shoes, but don’t your butt get sore from getting beat all the time? Don’t you get tired of always being in trouble?
As I have said on many occasions, God does not give F’s. He gives do overs. And usually the next time you go through it, it is harder than the last time. As I said before, don’t your butt get tired of being beat all the time?   I means sometimes why don’t you just say, “Jesus, I am going to do what you said.”
When I was a kid one of the things I caught on to was when I saw someone heading into trouble, I took my behind to where the adults were and sat down.  One summer evening, I joined the older ladies on their front porch chatting when a white man pull ed up in his car.

He said, “There are a bunch of little kids through rocks at the cars on the highway. Y’all know them kids?”
“No,” the ladies said.
Frustrated the man got back in his car and left.  But those ladies knew who it was and those kids were going to get a talking to because they brought the man into the hood.  And that was one of the few occasions I was not in trouble.  Some lessons you don’t want to repeat.
So whatever you are fighting through right now, ask God to help you understand what it is He wants you to learn. If you fail the test, you will find yourself back in that same situation again and again until you get it.
God is more interested in you learning what He wants you to know than you getting what you want when you want it. There is a purpose in everything you go through.  Look for it. Learn from it.

What is Wrong With This Picture?

2017-06-07 19.02.26As I was walking this morning I noticed these birds on the ground. At first they were standing in the shade of the tree, then they started walking.  And I thought what is wrong with this picture.

They are equipped to do way more than they are doing.

They could be in the tree. They could be flying. Instead they are standing in the shade under a tree.  They don’t have the gift of perspective that being in the tree or sky gives them. They are settling for something easy.

They are equipped to do more.

That is us. God has given us gifts like these winged creatures, yet we don’t use them.  We would much rather sit under a shade tree than use the energy it would take to stay on top of a big tree or fly in the sky or glide on the wind.

You are equipped to do more than you imagine.

Do it.

God Has Planted Seeds In All Of Us

which many ignore because the possibilities are far too scary.  But if you tap into God’s power, it will take you beyond your wildest dreams. You will have to look your deepest fears in the face and tell them that your God is bigger than them.

Many people will not do this. They do not have the faith to trust God to complete something through them.  But He gives us all the choice to try.

The past couple of weeks I had been praying over some projects.  He has given me some fun stuff to write, but I just didn’t have time.  All of the things I was doing were things He had instructed me to do, so I just prayed, “show me how.” I even prayed “is this what you want me to do? If not, what do you want me to do?” I don’t always assume that I have heard Him correctly, so I will go back and check.

I try not to become so fixated on anything so that I cannot do without it.  Whether I write, photograph or anything, I know that the ability could leave me at anytime (because the Lord gives and the Lord takes away). He might ask me to do something else.  I don’t want to love the creation more than the Creator.

This week He opened the door so that I could spend more time writing. Wow.  Pray and believe, you will receive. Trust Him, not your situation. Even though all hell is breaking lose on planet earth, the One who laid their foundations is still in charge.

Here is some truth. We are all going on a journey in this life.  You can sit back and enjoy the road trip trusting the Driver. Or you can fret and worry, wondering where you are going , if you have enough gas to get there or if you will like it when you get there.

This journey isn’t going to last forever, but our relationship with the Driver will.
