As I was walking this morning I noticed these birds on the ground. At first they were standing in the shade of the tree, then they started walking.  And I thought what is wrong with this picture.

They are equipped to do way more than they are doing.

They could be in the tree. They could be flying. Instead they are standing in the shade under a tree.  They don’t have the gift of perspective that being in the tree or sky gives them. They are settling for something easy.

They are equipped to do more.

That is us. God has given us gifts like these winged creatures, yet we don’t use them.  We would much rather sit under a shade tree than use the energy it would take to stay on top of a big tree or fly in the sky or glide on the wind.

You are equipped to do more than you imagine.
