I Remember

I remember as a kid hanging clothes on the line to dry. It was made of wire strung from one point to another. You would hang your things out to dry, even though the world would see it. Your important things. You insignificant things. Things that meant something to you.

For 2022, I am gonna keep wearing my masks and my bonnet. What are you taking into 2022?

This Past Weekend

We completed principal photography for the short film 14 to Fate. The cast was amazing. After a couple of weeks of rehearsal, they showed up ready to go. They were patient and helpful, be even more, told the story well. It was nice to have familiar faces like Ron Clemons and Debra Buchanan, but also welcome new actors with this project.

We all had moments of “ooh, that was good!”

Wardrobe was designed by Bridgette Thompson who is incredible. She had such a vision for each character and her clothing help bring out more of the character. She and her sewing machine helped make movie magic.

Sharli Ratliff helped design the production and carve out the vision for this project.

Hope Anderson was the Assistant Director, production assistant, camera person, driver, caterer, etc. Without her, this would not be the project it has been shaped into. Her leadership kept us on time and on task.

Kimani Oletu did some of the camera, which you will see is very nice.

We had fun. We made movie magic.

I can’t wait for you to see it.

Family Tree is finally finished! I am excited. I want the first screening to be in churches. If you think your church would be interested in screening our movie, inbox me a contact name, email or number.
For everyone else, I will let you know where and when you can see this awesome masterpiece!

Family Tree Movie Update

One of my goals for Family Tree was to make a movie you could watch over and over and laugh every time. I am almost there.

Not only are you going to want to see this when it opens, you will want to take a copy home with you. (smile)

I can’t take the credit. The actors did a great job of telling the story. As I reviewed the footage, they had me laughing and I knew what was going to happen. This happens when you get a group of talented people and challenge them to take their skills to another level. They did that thang!
There are going to be moments in the movie where you just stop. You won’t be able to believe what they just did or said. It is going to be sooo fun.

I can’t ignore the larger force in this project. God brought all the right people together at the right time. Lately my prayer has been, “Lord, don’t let me get in your way.” Every time the situation seems impossible, He handles it. Sometimes He tells me yes and gives me the industries best. Sometimes He tells me His grace is sufficient. My goal is to stay in His will cause He has a plan.
I love what He has done so far.

Another thing I started this weekend was Outtakes. I am compiling those into a presentation of its own. I promise to play these at the premiere. We spent a lot of time laughing and I will have to share. I want you to fall in love with cast. They have earned it.
