I.Love.To.Write.

I worked deep into the night last night finishing the updated version of Dancing During the Storm. You are going to love it. I know. I love it. I literally had to cut the last story off because I was running out of space.  I had been promising this update for a year and I finally did it! It is so worth it!

I will be honest writing for me is like a relationship. Some days it is good and I love it more than anything, other days, I quit it and promise never to return. If it were a marriage, I would have divorced it a dozen times. Of course, we would get back together and promise to do right.

The thing that always brings me back is the story.  I tell God I am not doing this anymore. I am finished, done. God gives me a story so good I can’t wait to put it on paper.

I added three new stories to the book and took two stories away.  Dancing During the Storm is a collection of short stories. These are stories I have written over the course of my life. the first story I added is about justice or what is perceived as justice. Another is about the state of women and the third one was my first attempt to write from the point of view of a man.

As you read my work, I am sure you wonder where does this come from, and only the grace of God knows.  He inspires me and takes me step by step through the process.

During the month of September I will give you some insight into why I do what I do. I will tell you some stories. You may even learn some things. This year I will also share some of the influencers in my life. Looking forward to telling you the story of me.

How to Raise God Wise Kids in a Satan rich World

I am writing the best book I have ever written

I can tell because everything wants to distract me. You know what I mean, you stop to do something that should take five seconds and it takes five hours. You have a section that is not working, so instead of going to another section, you watch TV.

God is not playing with me on this one. He said focus. I am trying.

With each lead female character  write about there is something, a scene, a task, that stays with me.

Whenever I am frying anything in a pan, I think of Zoraida.

Whenever I am driving down the street and my arm is hanging out the window, I think of Sandy.

This new character has me all messed up because she is always with me.  This could be part of the writing process, but her love story has me.  It haunts me, It speaks to me. I think it will knock you out too.

I tell stories because it is what I do, It is what I was created to do.  I still write by hand some things. (I know I am old) But I love how God uses me to tell these.

Well, I have to get back to work. I have procrastinated long enough.  I don’t know how this story is going to change the world, but it is certainly working its way through me. I can’t wait to share it with you.

Working on My Gifts

This has been a very low key week for me. I have not been able to do many outside activities. I have spent the week writing and editing.  Even though it is a creative process, I am methodical in my approach. Each project reveals to me a little more about who I am and what I believe.

I am working on two new books and one old one. I like the possibilities of the new ones, and the perspective the old ones give me. I decided that if I am going to pray over things, I am going to work on things.

God gave me the gift of storytelling and over the years has allowed me to do it in various forms. Each project has its own story to tell. I pray that each story will impact the lives of the people who read them. I pray the stories will point them to God.

I try never to take this gift for granted. I know I can only do it through the one who gave it to me. God.

I did, of course, make time for bible study. The Book of Revelation is nothing like I thought it would be. It has been fun and revealing God in a new way.

It reminded me that God is not dead, He is surely alive. Living on the inside, roaring like a lion.

Upcoming Projects

All of the silence you hear is me working on several projects. I’m excited about them and can’t wait to share them with you. Some days I wonder where all of this comes from, other days, I know it can only come from God.
One of the projects is titled Caught in the Crosswinds. I love how projects evolve as I work on them. This one is turning out to be very different from my original concept. BUT all of my projects are influenced by my life, and while God is constantly shaping and molding me, it is reflected in my work.  Crosswinds deals with issues that define who you are and what you believe.

For us A types, when we have a plan for life and are on course with that plan, a crosswind blowing us off course is detrimental. How we deal with these crosswinds determines how we get back on course.

In When You Forget Your Phone, I used verses that were personal to me. The Lord has taught me these verses over my lifetime.  Memorizing God’s word allows Him to write it on your heart.

In the second book, Crosswinds, I examine Who God is to me, What He does for me, and What He wants from me.  My journey is very different from yours, but God uses the words from the bible to lead me to and fro. I share stories that are fun and fabulous about my journey.

In the printed versions of each book there is art that also reflects the depth of the word.  I hope to have the project published by Christmas. I will keep you updated.

Peace

Focusing On What We Do Best in 2013

2013 is going to be a year where I focus on what I do best: write.  There are three projects in the works right now.

The first project is a book titled Connections. It is a crime drama. The second project is the book, Mutiny, the second story in the Privateers saga. The third project is a stage play titled Wicked and Redeemed: Women of the Bible.

In February FULL GROWN will be back in production. The first episode should be on YouTube around March.

Hopefully in March or April, I can do a staged reading of Wicked and Redeemed.

I will tell you more about each project over the next couple of months.
