Family Tree Auditions

Written by Karen Anderson, the movie is a dramedy that tells the story of an African American family that do not like each other, but is forced into having a family reunion by one of the members.  The story will explore family dynamics and what is family. Is it blood or relationship?

We will be holding auditions in the month of April for the movie. If you are interested send an email to uppcreative@yahoo.com. This is gonna be a knock down drag out comedy.

The Bread that Satifies

I am a foodie. I love food. Bread. It is my favorite. Well baked bread can save a ruined meal. It is something that is difficult for me to give up as I struggle with my weight. No matter how hard I try to eat meals without the doughy goodness, those meals are just not as satisfying.

Today I learned that there is only one bread that satisfies.

As I was driving through this neighborhood today I saw a place and thought, “Wow, I bet that is a great place to live.”

At the next place I saw, “Nope, wouldn’t want to live there.”

Then something in me stopped me. I prayed “Lord, help me be satisfied with where you have me.”

I believe He had a breakthrough today.

Many of the things I want to achieve are like the foods I eat. Some are vegetables and fruits which are colorful and fun. Some are pastries and cakes which are sweet but not very healthy. And believe it or not, there are some that look like bread, smell like bread and even taste like bread.

But there is only one that can satisfy. That is the Bread of God.

He makes me content wherever I am, whatever I am going through. He gives me peace in the midst of storm. He says, “It’s okay, Karen. I got this.”

Whenever I think I can’t take it anymore, He does something that makes me sit down and shut up. He handles my enemies. He handles my problems. All I have to do is what He tells me to do.
I spend time in His word everyday to be sure I am moving in the right direction.

This morning’s attribute was love. Imagine someone who loves you so much that everything He does is for your own good. He loves you more than anyone on this earth can love you. He loves you more than you can love anyone. He loves you so much He gave His life so that you could spend eternity with Him.

If you want to be satisfied, really satisfied, I double dog dare you to take Him up on his offer. John 10:10.

An ever present help

For this Resurrection Season I will explore the attributes of God. Every morning He gives me an attribute, and throughout the day I experience His presence in that attribute. I love this walk to the cross, on this side of the cross. I love to watch Him work. I will share this with you on Twitter and Facebook. I hope you enjoy the journey.
Today’s attribute is Help. Psalms 46:1

Also today you can get a free Kindle copy of Dancing During the Storm on Amazon. If you do get a copy of it, please write a review.

March Promotions

I do not have a manchild, so there are some things I do not think to stop and teach. But last night at bible study I was teaching him to hold the door for the ladies. I don’t think it bothers him to hold it for strangers, but I am pretty sure he did not like letting his older sisters go in first.
As he was holding the door, ladies would thank and compliment him. When he had finished I said, “See, you did a great job.”
He was not impressed. He told me he wished he could get tips for it.
I laughed out loud. Dropped him off at his class. On my way to my class I stopped in the hallway to send a text to my sister informing her of what HER son said.
As I was standing there texting (because I cannot walk and text at the same time), I was bumped into by a good friend of mine. She fussed at me for mentioning her name in one of my books. I laughed and said you teach me so much, how can I leave you out.
My blonde headed Jesus loving friend said “Now, I won’t get my reward in heaven because I have gotten it here.”
Cracked me up.

But you know, I want my reward in heaven. Each time I stopped to pray over something I have to ask myself, is this earthly reward worth forgoing the one I could have in heaven? I don’t know.

So the moral of this story is this. If I share this life with you there is a good chance I am going to write about you, so you may want to read my stuff just so you can know. (that your heavenly reward has been spent here on this earth. Bhwaaaa)

Speaking of my books. I am getting better at Amazon book promotions. This month’s free Kindle books are already scheduled:

I would also ask that if you get one of these books that you review it on Amazon. Love you guys. K
