Caught In the Crosswinds will be available on Amazon next week

Caught in the Crosswinds is the second book in the series Your Emergency Response Plan. The series is designed to examine your response to the troubles in your life. Where do you turn? What do you do?

The first book, When You Forget Your Phone is a devotional that challenges you to memorize God’s word. If you know God’s word, it is easier to stand on His promises when your world is turbulent. If you learn to build your life on God’s word, it is impossible for anyone to destroy you.

Published in December of 2013, Caught in the Crosswinds explores what  a relationship with Christ looks like. When troubles come into your life where do you go? Experience has taught me that there is one true source. Jesus Christ. Through a series of stories and illustrations, this book points to attributes of God that have shaped the author’s life.

The cover was designed by Serena Barnett. She also did the photography for cover.  Interior illustrations were created by Devin Anderson.

You will be able to order a print copy of the book on Amazon by Christmas. The Kindle edition is still in the works.

The final promotion is also a Kindle Countdown. Dancing During the Storm will begin at $.99 on November 28 and countdown to November 30.

Dancing During the Storm is a collection of stories from projects that I have written over the years.  They represent a desire to praise God despite the storms in my life. As the saying goes, you are going into a storm, in the middle of a storm or coming out of a storm.  All of these stories tell of people who enjoy the life that God has given them and live it to the fullest.  Each character has a storm in their life which they are going into, in the midst of, or coming out of.

People on Your Path

Have you ever wondered why certain people come and go in your life? There are people who are destined to have impact on your life. You get to determine if it is a good or bad impact.
There is a group of women I love to travel with.  We have a great time and laugh a lot. I am so blessed by the impact they make in my life. I am learning not to take myself so serious.  I am learning to try new things. I am learning to set boundaries.
What people have God brought into your life? Do they challenge you and make you strive to be better? Are they sand paper people polishing your rough edges? Look at everyone in your life and ask yourself what type of impact are they making in your life.
God brought them to you for a reason. Make sure His purposes are being served.

Don’t Miss It

Don’t miss your blessing because it don’t look like you think it should. When Israel wanted a king, God gave them a shepherd after His own heart, David. When Egypt needed saving from a famine, God gave them a man from prison, a slave named Joseph. When we needed a Savior, God gave us a Jewish carpenter from Nazareth.

Don’t miss your blessing cause it ain’t wrapped in the packaging you think it ought to be in.

Upcoming Projects

All of the silence you hear is me working on several projects. I’m excited about them and can’t wait to share them with you. Some days I wonder where all of this comes from, other days, I know it can only come from God.
One of the projects is titled Caught in the Crosswinds. I love how projects evolve as I work on them. This one is turning out to be very different from my original concept. BUT all of my projects are influenced by my life, and while God is constantly shaping and molding me, it is reflected in my work.  Crosswinds deals with issues that define who you are and what you believe.

For us A types, when we have a plan for life and are on course with that plan, a crosswind blowing us off course is detrimental. How we deal with these crosswinds determines how we get back on course.

In When You Forget Your Phone, I used verses that were personal to me. The Lord has taught me these verses over my lifetime.  Memorizing God’s word allows Him to write it on your heart.

In the second book, Crosswinds, I examine Who God is to me, What He does for me, and What He wants from me.  My journey is very different from yours, but God uses the words from the bible to lead me to and fro. I share stories that are fun and fabulous about my journey.

In the printed versions of each book there is art that also reflects the depth of the word.  I hope to have the project published by Christmas. I will keep you updated.

Peace

Dancing During The Storm On Sale Today

Today and tomorrow you can get a free Amazon kindle version of Dancing During the Storm.
Dancing During The Storm
Dancing During the Storm is a collection of stories from projects that I have written over the years. They represent a desire to praise God despite the storms in my life. As the saying goes, you are going into a storm, in the middle of a storm or coming out of a storm. All of these stories tell of people who enjoy the life that God has given them and live it to the fullest. Each character has a storm in their life which they are going into, in the midst of, or coming out of. The first story is about the first man to ever encounter a storm and the impact on his life. The second story is about an African American book editor on her first date with her boss and allows him to see more of her life than she wanted revealed. She is heading into a storm over which she has no control. The third story is a science fiction tale of the journey of a young woman who is searching for peace and quiet after spending the last two years on a planet that had to resemble hell. As she emerges from the storms of her life, she sees that things are not a easy as she thought they would be. Enjoy these fun, light hearted stories, but hear the underlying intent. All of the main characters know that God is in control.
